I’m an autistic working class writer who enjoys developing the work of others, encouraging them to explore different narrative forms and discover their own creative possibilities.

I have mentored many writers, helping them to develop the tools, experience and confidence to trust their unique voices.

I believe our life experiences shape the way we see the world, the stories we want to tell and how we choose to tell them.

NEWBUILD grew from that belief. It’s a place to explore new ways of storytelling, celebrate different perspectives and give deaf, disabled and neurodivergent writers the space, encouragement and opportunities to develop their work.

I’m excited by the stories we haven’t heard yet, and the ways they might be told.
